The Ultimate Family Vacation At Four Seasons Resort at Wailea

*Although this trip was gifted to us, all opinions here are honest and my own!

Aloha! We just returned home from one of the best family trips we have ever embarked on. What makes a holiday the #BestTripEver? I believe when traveling with kids, it means going to a hotel and location that offers a balance of activities and amenities for all ages (adults included!) It means a hotel that goes above and beyond and staff that thinks of things you don’t even know to ask for. It means somewhere that feels like home, elevated. My husband and I felt like this was our first trip we have taken with our boys (ages 5 and 7) where it was the perfect mix of “us” time and “family” time, and I credit that 100% to Four Seasons Maui.

When trying to figure out the perfect location for our winter holiday, we decided Hawaii was the spot. I had recently visited the Four Seasons Wailea a few months earlier with HeyMama and was so impressed with the property, the food and the outstanding Hawaiian hospitality that I knew I needed to return back with my family to experience it all again.

From the moment I booked this trip, every step was seamless, stress free and beyond my expectations.

My Four Seasons Wailea experience began before we even arrived in Maui. I was contacted via text and email from the concierge prior to arrival which made booking our excursions, dinner reservations and poolside cabana a breeze.

I want to share my favorite things to do at the Four Seasons Wailea and why I think this is the PERFECT spot for a family getaway!

THE PROPERTY: The Four Seasons Wailea is perched perfectly on the ocean, with views that literally take your breath away. The lobby is in the centre of the property with rooms sprawling out in every direction. The main family friendly pool sits in the centre, like a beautiful display, and is truly the heart of the hotel. The various restaurants surround it on all sides and the beach lays out beyond it. There is a kids pool next to the main pool and an adults only pool as well. We also played tennis on one of their 2 grass courts located on the 6th floor. There is a gift shop filled with toys and snacks and essentials, numerous boutiques to buy a sunhat, bathing suit or jewelry and a gym that boasts indoor/outdoor appeal. I frequented the Beachwalk Cafe down by the beach that also sells ice cream, snacks and sunscreen.

ROOMS: We booked a King room with a garden view which by the way still had a partial ocean view. I have seen a few rooms at the property and all the rooms are perfect for a family. Our room had 1 king bed and a sofa bed that was opened each night for us that was queen size and perfect for our two little boys to share.

The bathrooms at this hotel are my favorite. They have a music system that plays traditional Hawaiian music, classic rock and easy listening. The bathtub is lush and huge and there is a separate stand up shower. There was also a ton of space for the 4 of us to unpack and so much drawer space!

We had a balcony that looked out at the grounds and where we could air-dry our bathing suits and enjoy watching the sunset.

WHERE TO EAT: You literally never have to leave the property to eat unless you really want to. We ate at all the restaurants on property and each one has a unique and exciting menu. The BEST part is every single restaurant has a kids menu. I can’t begin to express how much a game changer this is when dining with kids (especially kids who are picky eaters.) The kids menu has healthy kid approved choices like pasta parmesan, pizza, and more.

Spago: The famous Spago with a local Hawaiian twist. Exciting food and beautiful setting with a stunning patio. A Forbes Four Star and AAA Diamond restaurant this spot lives up to the hype.

Duo: A delicious steakhouse with great local seafood and amazing views. Duo is also where the epic breakfast each morning is served. It’s a buffet and a la carte menu filled with anything you can imagine and more. A highlight is the smoothie bar where you can custom make fresh smoothies and juices.

Ferraro: An Italian restaurant with homemade pasta, an extensive wine list and poolside patio facing the ocean.

WHAT TO DO/ACTIVITIES:

The Kids Club called Kids For All Seasons: Kids For All Seasons was definitely a game changer for our family. From the moment our kiddos stepped foot into this welcoming bright space that is indoor/outdoor, they never wanted to leave! Kids For All Seasons offers a perfect mix of chill time, movies, adventures, crafts, sports and more. They provide lunch and snacks for the kids too if you want. We took the kids in and out depending on the day, and they literally were excited to go back every day right after breakfast.

CONCIERGE: I have never highlighted a concierge but this team truly went above and beyond. We are a family that likes to plan and sometimes have our day planned to the minute. The Four Seasons Maui concierge communicates via text, which makes changing reservations last minute, booking extra surf lessons and asking questions a breeze. They were so helpful in planning each day for us and answering any questions we had. Definitely utilize this service to capitalize on all the property and surrounding area has to offer!

SPA: The spa at the hotel is amazing! My husband enjoyed a 90 minute massage and I enjoyed a poolside 60 min massage right at our cabana. The poolside massage has to be booked same day at the pool, and there are fun options like scalp, neck and shoulders, feet and a foot masque.

OFF PROPERTY FUN: We tried surfing for the first time at Maui Waveriders. The concierge helped us book our private lessons and this was such a blast! My 7 year old and I went twice and have now officially become surfers!

I hope you get a chance to visit Four Seasons Maui at Wailea and feel free to send me a message with any questions! This truly was one of the most special family trips and we can’t wait to go back.

Thanks as always for joining me here at SamSoMuch!

Mahalo,

Sam
